Moxibustion (Moxa)
Moxibustion has a long history and deep roots in Chinese medicine and was often used as a preventative treatment to nourish life, strengthen the body and guard against disease. It involves the slow burning of the dried herb mugwort, either directly over an acupuncture point or around the shaft of the needle, which has a warming, supplementing and nourishing effect.
What does moxibustion treat?
Moxibustion is commonly used for acute and chronic conditions, immune deficiency, low blood pressure, cold and hot conditions, gynaecological and obstetric problems, digestive and skin disorders and many other conditions.
